Consorci Transversal Xarxa d'activitats culturals (CAT)
Formed in 2005 the “Transversal Consortium” is a collaborative cultural network that represents towns and city municipalities from outside of the Barcelona metropolitan zone that share a common interest in the coordination and creation of a broad range of cultural activities across Catalonia.
Participating municipalities include Figueres , Girona, Granollers, La Seu d’Urgell, Lleida, Manresa, Mataro, Olot, Reus, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Tortosa, Vic and Vilanova and share a combined population of almost one million people.
Core activities of the network include educational and technological innovation projects, production and promotion of touring theatre, dance, circus and the visual arts, and the ongoing training and professional development of local artists and cultural professionals.
Transversal is thus a network of intermediate cities that take from local government the challenge of ensuring and extending cultural rights by making a commitment to contemporary culture and creation in a collaborative framework.
The Transversal Consortium administrative and project team are currently based in Olot.
For the development of Changing Tracks in Catalonia, Transversal will recieve the support of the Culture Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
